New Staff Duplex Under
Construction

Camp Blue Diamond's new Staff Duplex is nearing completion. Built in two sections by ProBuilt Homes of Mifflintown, PA, and assembled and roofed by Lepley Construction, the new duplex will be the year round home of Brian Bert, CBD's Program Director, and the summer home of Paul Witkovsky, CBD's Facility Director. Each half of the house has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, laundry room and living room. On Dec. 7th & 8th, a large crane lifted the two house sections and fit them on top of the completed basement. The Lepley Construction crew tethered the sections to the foundation and one another, then put on the roof. In January and February camp staff and volunteers did electrical, plumbing and carpentry work, and contractors poured the basement floor, installed furnaces and laid carpet. Volunteers are needed for the finishing touches which include sliding and putting on a front porch. If you can help give CBD a call (814) 667-2355. Enjoy the photos!

Wood n' Work Days: March 19 & 20

Come help the staff get CBD ready for Outdoor School and Summer Camp on March 19 & 20 . Friday there will be several construction projects around camp, including; putting siding on the new Lakeside Cabin and building a front porch on the new Duplex. If you don’t feel comfortable helping with these building projects, camp needs volunteers to stain buildings and get the grounds cleaned up for outdoor school and summer camp.

Woodcutting Day is Saturday, so bring your chainsaws & splitters and come on down. We’ll start early around 8:00 and work until around 3.  A hearty lunch will be served both days, and a breakfast for those who show up early on Saturday (7:30 a.m.). Youth and Junior High groups, accompanied by their adult advisors, are wanted too. Please come and help! Bring your chainsaws, pick-ups and especially splitters (there’s never enough). Contact CBD at (814) 667-2355 or by email , and let us know which job your crew would like to do (so we can get the supplies).
